Ocie L. Williams, age 93, of Dellwood, died on February 18, 2025, at her residence. Born on April 16, 1931, Ocie dedicated much of her life to caring for others, working as a psychiatric aide at Florida State Hospital where she made a lasting impact in the lives of others.
Ocie had a multitude of interests and hobbies that brought her joy. Her family was her true joy. She cherished her time tending to her beautiful flower gardens, which showcased her love for nature. Fishing was another of her favorite pastimes, a peaceful activity that mirrored her gentle spirit. She also had a love for animals and enjoyed camping. In her later years, Ocie attended First Baptist Church in Bascom, Florida.
Ocie is survived by her son, Terry Williams and wife, Georgia; her sisters, Juanita Buckhalter and husband, WR; Frances Williams and husband, Ed; her brothers, Gene Mercer, Jimmy Mercer and wife, Eileen. She will also be remembered by numerous nieces, nephews, and friends who loved her dearly.
Ocie was preceded in death by parents, Hubert and Tennie Mercer; late husband, Colon Earl Williams; sisters, Edna Earl Lawrence, Nellie Wade Whiddon, Robbie Wilson; sister-in-law, Earline McMillan; and brother, Lemuel Mercer.
Funeral services will be 2 PM Thursday, February 20, 2025, at James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel with Greg Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing. The family will receive friends from 1 PM until the time of service.
