Nora Laverne Sellers, 82, of Blairsville, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, March 16, 2024, at Union General Hospital. Nora was born July 28, 1941, in Fender, Tift County Georgia to General Taylor and Mary Frances Zimpleman.
Nora worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse for 25 years in Marianna, Florida. Throughout her career, she touched many lives. Prior to the death of her husband, she resided in Cottonwood, Alabama.
Nora was preceded in death by her parents, General Taylor and Mary Frances Zimpleman; husband, Addison Sellers; sister, Gloria Ann Taylor; and brother, Hal Taylor.
She is survived by her daughter, Debra (Ed) Fortune; sons, Kenneth Friedrich, Michael Friedrich, and Joel Friedrich; grandchildren, Joseph Sides, Kristen Sides, Daphney (Britton) Jones, Mason (Logan) Friedrich, Landry Friedrich, Candice (David) White, Cassidy Friedrich, Kamie (Kyle) Johnson, J.J. Friedrich; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Nora, who was known by her family as "Memaw", will be remembered as a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, as well as a dedicated nurse.
Memorial service will be 2 pm Friday, April 5, 2024 at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens - Chapel of the Pines Mausoleum with Pastor LaVon Pettis officiating. Burial will follow with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing.
The family will receive friends from 1:30 pm until the time of service.
