Newt F. King, 72, of Marianna died Thursday, September 6, 2007 at Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan. A native of Bascom, Mr. King was a retired Florida Highway Patrol Trooper and later worked for the Jackson County Building Department. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Marianna and the Fisherman Sunday School Class, most recently he was employed with Rahal-Miller Chevrolet and Cadillac and Marianna Toyota. He was preceded in death by his parents, James F. and Bessie Winget King; his Father and Mother in Law, Bill and Emma Duce; a Brother in Law, Robert A. Moline, a nephew, Mark Moline. Survivors include, his wife of 52 years, Ruth Duce King of Marianna; a son, Wayne King and partner, Kazanobu Akutsu of West New York, New Jersey; two daughters, Lynn King of Taylor, Al. and Rachel Ferraris and husband Scott of Warner Robins, Ga.; Two brothers, Larry King and wife Nell of Two Egg, John King and wife Pat of Bascom; four grandchildren, Courtney Cornog and husband Andrew of Taylor, Al., Joseph Ferraris and Jon David Ferraris both of Warner Robins, Ga. and Madison Kolb of Taylor, Al.; two great-grandchildren, Julian and Caithan Cornog; Two Sisters in Law, Elsie Moline of Marianna and Lo Watts of Jacksonville; two brothers in Law and Sisters in Law, Donnie and Patricia Duce of Chipley, Gayle and Patsey Duce of Marianna. Numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 4 pm, Sunday, September 9, 2007 at Maddox Chapel with Rev. Michael Petty officiating, burial will follow at New Hope Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing. The family will receive friends Sunday, September 9, 2007 after 2 pm at Maddox Chapel. In lieu of flowers, contributations may be made to the New Hope Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery fund or the Susan G. Komen Cancer Research, P.O. Box 437, Macon, Ga. 31210.
