Nelva Nicole Love, 47, passed from this life on Saturday, August 21, 2021, in Dothan, Alabama, surrounded by her loving family.
Nelva was born August 28, 1973, at Holy Cross Hospital, Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Nelva later moved to Marianna, FL where she graduated from Marianna High School in 1992. Soon after graduation, Nelva moved to Panama City Beach, FL, making her home there until 2018. After her son, Ethan, graduated high school and joined the Navy, she and her husband, Eric, moved to Jackson County, Florida, and made their home at Trinity Acres in Greenwood, FL. She was the daughter of Natina and William Sullivan of Lovedale, FL and Michael Stransky of Webb, AL.
Nelva loved the Lord and her family with all her heart. She will always be remembered for her contagious laugh, sweet smile, big heart with a giving spirit beyond measure, and her love for her family, friends, and animals. The bond she had with her son, Ethan, is unbreakable. She always said, ‘He is my greatest accomplishment.’ In tribute to his mother, Ethan wrote, ‘You taught me so many things, from paying it forward, having a tender heart to those in need and just being a good person in general. You are that good person that everyone loves and the person I aspire to be.’
Nelva was preceded in death by her grandparents, Annie Irene Brogdon Messer, Laura Hamilton, Granny Lucille Sullivan and B. E. Messer.
Nelva is survived by her loving husband, Eric Love of Greenwood, FL; son, Ethan Youngblood stationed in Bangor, WA; daughter, Paige Love of Greenwood, FL; sisters, Sonya Stransky Hickman and husband, Randy of Malone, FL, Andrea Stransky of Greenwood, FL; brother, Jimmy Sullivan and wife, Cindy of Dothan, AL; nieces, Abby Irene Pittman and husband, Jeffery of Lovedale, FL, Taya, Ciara, Brittany and Kaitlyn; nephew, John Andy Calloway and wife, Sierra of Gordon, AL; and granddaughter, Angel Love of Greenwood, FL. Nelva was affectionately known as “Elbow” by her special great-nieces and nephews, AnnaClaire Pittman, J.C. Pittman, Bentley Calloway and Aubrey Calloway.
Services will be Saturday, August 28 at Evangel Church, 4792 Hwy 90, Marianna, FL. The family will be receiving friends from 10-11 AM, immediately followed by a memorial service. The memorial service will be broadcast on Evangel Church Facebook page.
The family has requested all attendees wear a mask and adhere to social distancing.
