Nelson Theodore Letts, Jr. 75, of Altha, Florida died Friday, January 21, 2022 at Jackson Hospital.
He was born March 24, 1946 in Lansing, Michigan to Nelson and Beverly Letts. Nelson served his country in the Army and his heart of service continued even after leaving the military. He was always one to notice someone in need, and offer a helping hand, whether it was giving to a community organization or buying food for someone who needed it. When he wasn’t giving to someone in need, he was finding hidden treasures in thrift stores.
Nelson was preceded in death by his parents, Nelson Theodore Letts, Sr., and Beverly Smith Letts; brother, Matthew Allen Letts; sister, Debbie Letts Sells. He is survived by his sister-in-law, Hazel Short-Letts and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at Red Oak Community Mennonite Church, 19247 NW Co. Rd. 275, Altha, FL. Burial will follow in Red Oak Cemetery with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Red Oak Community Mennonite Church.
