James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel 4278 Lafayette Street Marianna, Florida 32446 850-482-2332 Mrs. Nellar Tyus, 72, of Grand Ridge, died Tuesday, July 13, 2010, at Big Bend Hospice House in Tallahassee. She was a native and lifelong resident of Jackson County. Nellar enjoyed fishing, cooking and being a homemaker and was a loving mother and grandmother. She was a longtime member of Welcome Assembly of God Church. Mrs. Tyus was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Alfred Tyus and her parents, Louis Hussey and Estelle Fowler Hussey. She is survived by one daughter, Lisa Tyus Ellis of Wetumpka, AL; two sons, Dennis Tyus of Tallahassee, FL; and Quintin Tyus & wife Bronda of Dellwood, FL; eight grandchildren, Cassidy Ellis of Wetumpka, AL, Alex & Joshua Tyus of Monticello, IN; Amity Sullivan of Alaska, Demetrius Tyus of Marianna, FL , Quay Tyus of Grand Ridge, FL, Chelsea Tyus of St. Pauls, NC and Sara Neal of Huntsville, AL; four Great-grandchildren; Five brothers, Burmon Hussey & wife Mary Lou, Raymond Hussey, Ivan Hussey & wife Louise, Millard Hussey & wife Janice, all of Marianna, Earl Hussey & wife Barbara of Panama City, Fl; two sisters, Mozell Hill & husband Vernon of Greenwood, FL and Lorice Powell of Dellwood, FL; 9 nieces and 9 nephews. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, July 17, 2010 at Welcome Assembly of God Church in Dellwood with Rev. Charles Jackson and Dr. Thomas Batts officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing.
