Nell Dudley Yon

Nell Dudley Yon, age 81, of Jacksonville, Florida, went Home to be with The Lord on Thursday, December 16, 2021. She was a resident of Jacksonville since 1958. Mrs. Yon was an active member of Harvest Ministries Church where she served in many leadership roles including planning and organizing trips/activities for the Harvesters. She had many interests but especially enjoyed family, friends, and her dog Eli, traveling the world, hosting annual Super Bowl parties, card games with friends, and challenging puzzles. She retired from the Department of Motor Vehicles as an Investigator. For 30+ years and up until the very end, she worked as a precinct manager with The Duval County Supervisor of Elections.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Horace and Annie Kathleen Dudley; husband, Quillon C. “Jiggs” Yon; daughter-in-law, Terri Lynn Yon; and a sister, Helen Harris Yon (Paul).  Survivors include her son, Kevin D. Yon; daughter, Robyn Y. Newman (Rick); 4 grandchildren, Ashley Yost (Matthew), Sydney Nelson (Zach), Samantha Reeves (Ryan), and Lauren Yon; 1 great-grandchild, Theodore Nelson; sister, Linda Joan Gilley (Jerry); along with numerous nieces, nephews, other family, and friends.

Graveside funeral service will be Saturday, December 18, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. CST in Shady Grove Cemetery in Grand Ridge, Florida with Pastor Bascom Smith officiating and James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing.
