Nancy Meyer Allen (Graham), age 80
“Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sun on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.”
On Friday, January 20, 2023, Nancy passed away in Dothan, Alabama.
Nancy was born on December 24, 1942 in Pensacola, Florida to Benjamin and Callie Graham. She was twice married, first to Arthur Meyer and then Chip Allen, who both predeceased her. She had the great joy to travel and make a home all across the U.S. and has made many friends due to that.
Nancy is survived by her children: Laura Roberts, Richard Meyer, and Ronald Meyer; sisters, Helen Bellairs, Lee Nation (Leonard), Shirley Armstrong, and Judy Graham; grandchildren, Tierney Meyer, Jonathan Meyer, Ashley Wester, and Joshua Roberts; seven great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; as well as her lifelong friend, Marsha Bouchell, and her faithful dog, Sassy.
In addition to her deceased husbands, she is predeceased by five sisters, three brothers, her granddaughter, Natasha Waite, and her parents. Nancy loved crafts of all types, flower arranging, decorating, cruising, and her favorite pastime, browsing Amazon. She will be missed so much by those whose life she touched.
“When you awaken in the morning’s hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there; I did not die.”
Funeral Service will be at James and Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel in Marianna, at 1:00 PM, Thursday, January 26, 2023 with Rev. Juno Douglas officiating. No visitation is scheduled.
She will be laid to rest at Bayview Fisher-Pou Memorial Park in Pensacola with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Nancy’s honor to Sneads Assembly of God Missions Department (Post Office Box 89, Sneads, Florida 32460).
