Jessie Clements Paulk

March 25, 1927 — August 30, 2015

Mrs. Jessie Clements Paulk, 88, of Sneads, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 30, 2015 at her home following an extended illness. Jessie was born March 25, 1927 in Geneva County, Alabama to S.B. and Anna Clements. She married Rev. John Albert Paulk on October 3, 1944. They had one son, Ronald Albert Paulk. Mrs. Paulk was a homemaker, devoted wife and loving mother. She was an active member of Salem Wesleyan Church in Sneads, where she served in numerous capacities for more than 50 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, son, parents and sibilings, Gary Clements and Lizzie Clements McElvain. Survivors include her caregivers, Wes and JoAnn Parish of Sneads; three sisters-in-law, Eloise Hatcher (Roy) of Grand Ridge, Doris Bayles of Bascom, Betty Bouington of Port St. Joe; one brother-in-law, Jerry Paulk (Cecelia) of Opp, AL; two who were like daughters, Anna Parish Martin (Josh), Jennifer Lawson Grantham (Billy) all of Sneads; the congregation of Salem Wesleyan Church where she was affectionately known as "Church Mother" and many nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral services will be 3 p.m. (CDT) Tuesday, September 1, 2015 at Salem Wesleyan Church with Revs. Wes Wickard, Jack Howell and Bill Pevy officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with James & Sikes Funeral Home of Sneads directing. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the church.
