Mitchell Chandler, 59, of Lovedale Community died Thursday, May 5, 2022 at his residence.
Anyone who knew Mitch, knew he has loved fishing since he was a kid. Playing with, and spoiling, his grandbabies made him happier than he's ever been. He had a heart for working hard and serving others. He made his own schedule of working sun up to sun down and still had time to go to church three or four times a week and made time for any other events. He was a go-to guy in the community for anyone who needed something done, especially widows. He was a kid at heart; he put a smile on the face of every person who met him and finished off every day with a bowl of chocolate ice cream, or two, if he missed a bowl the day before.
Mitch was preceded in death by his grandparents, Boyd G. and Lillian Hadden. Chandler, and Wilber J. and Valda C. Stephenson Logan; his father, Harvel G. Chandler.
His is survived by his children, Abby C. Smith and husband, Gerald, Logan Mitchell Chandler; mother, Fay L. Chandler; brother, Patrick H. Chandler and wife, Angela; granddaughters, Emery and Raven Smith; and nephews, Chris and Tyler Chandler.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, May 10, 2022 at Lovedale Baptist Church.
A viewing will be one hour prior to the service beginning at 1:00 PM.
