Minnie Mae Hewett, 74, of Malone, Florida died, Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at Jackson Hospital.
She was born March 12, 1947, in Donalsonville, Georgia to Sebren and Barney Smith. Minnie grew up in the Grand Ridge area and later moved to Malone. Always known for being artistic, she loved to capture memories through photographs, grow beautiful fruit and flower gardens. As free-spirited, as she was, she always managed to keep everyone on the right track.
Minnie was preceded in death by her father, Sebren Smith; mother, Barney Smith; brother, Jimmy Earl Smith; daughter, Tonya Mathis; son, Chuckie Hewett; husbands, Paul Hamilton and Aaron Hewett.
She is survived by her children, David Hamilton, Jimmy Hamilton, Tammy Thames (Steve), Shane Hewett (Justin), Brittany Lackey; 15 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Tina Brogdon (Leon), and Helen Deese.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Friday, September 24, 2021 at Collins Chapel Baptist Church in Malone with Pastor Ken Beard officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Collins Chapel.
