Emmett “Miller” Winget. Born on August 22, 1955 in Chattahoochee, Florida to the late Emmett and Evelyn Hart Winget. Graduated from Greenwood High School in 1973. He retired after 30 years from the State of Florida, working as an Institutional Security Specialist I, at the Florida State Hospital. Miller enjoyed traveling, casinos, riding motorcycles and tending to his cows.
He is preceded in death by brothers, Dennis “Wiggler” Winget and Mark Hodges; and a niece, Areall Winget. Miller is survived by George and Ginger Winget of Grand Ridge, Theresa and Eddie Ray Scipper of Sneads; nephew, Ricky (Chelsea) Winget of Bonifay, Amanda (Thomas) Gatlin of Grand Ridge, Sara Hodges of Bainbridge, Georgia, Beth (Chase) Heard of Baker County, Georgia; great-nephews, Cole Best, Alex Gatlin, Charlie Heard, and Cohen Heard; great-nieces, Charlee Winget and Charlotte Heard; as well as, special friends, Ann Marlowe and Scott King.
Visitation will be 5 PM to 7 PM CST Sunday, March 17, 2024, at James and Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel in Marianna, Florida.
Graveside services will be 2:00 PM CST, Monday, March 18, 2024, at New Hope Free Will Baptist Church in Dellwood with Rev. Steve Benefield officiating and James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing.
