Millard Lipford, 87, of Marianna, Florida died Wednesday, February 21, 2024, at his residence.
Millard was born July 25, 1936 in Marianna to Harmon and Verlie B. Lipford. A life-long residence of Jackson County, Millard spent the majority of his life farming and ranching. When he wasn’t working on the farm, he worked for the Marianna Auction Barn. In his later years, he worked for Monsanto Fertilizer until his retirement. He was a lifelong member of Hasty Pond Baptist Church. Throughout his life he enjoyed spending time outside hunting and fishing, especially with his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Odean Porter and Wandis Daniels; son-in-law, Don Tyre; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Millard is survived by his wife of 66 years, Marjorie P. Lipford of Marianna; daughters, Donna Tyre of Wiggins, MS; Kay and Red Morris of Oakfield, Georgia; son, Greg and Jean Lipford of Marianna; 13 grandchildren, Christina Tyre, Linda Dixon, Don (Alicia) Tyre, Amanda (Harley) Nolan, all of Mississippi, Zachary (Amy) Lipford, Tyler (Mari) Lipford, Whitney (Chris) Jones, all of Marianna, Ryley (Cason) Lipford of Milton, FL, Syd Langford, Will Langford of North Dakota, Courtney Gordan, Cara Morris, Mike (Stephanie) Morris all of Oakfield, GA; 26 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Hazel Obert of Cottondale, Betty Lou McClendon of Altha; two brothers, Virgil Lipford of Marianna and Ervin Lipford of Tallahassee.
Funeral services will be 2 PM, Sunday, February 25, 2024, at Hasty Pond Baptist Church with Rev. John Hagan officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing.
The family will receive friends at 1 PM until the time of service.
