James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel Mildred Beatrice Mayo Tiller, age 97 of Panama City, formerly of Marianna, went to be with the Lord on October 9, 2013, surrounded by family and loved ones. She loved people, her church and most of all her family. Mildred enjoyed many years as a nurse, having worked for Dr. Roy Wandeck, Dr. Eugene McQuagge and Dr. C.D. Whitaker as well as Jackson Hospital and Marianna Convalescent Center. She worked with many volunteer organizations in Jackson County and started the Marianna Chapter of Widowed Person's Service and served as president for two years. She was a charter member of AARP Chapter 3486. She volunteered with the American Red Cross and Habitat for Humanity. Mildred was an active member of Trinity Baptist Church for more than 50 years and was active in Girls Auxiliary Leadership, Women's Missionary Union where she served as president for three years and taught Sunday School for 30 years. Mildred was preceded in death by her husband, James W. Tiller; daughter, Jackie Tiller Dykes, and grandson, Kevin Ryan Fuder. She is survived by two children, James E. Tiller of Panama City and Pat Tiller Mills of Panama City and her spouse Roger Mills; five grandchildren, Rhonda Dykes, Bert Dykes, Michael Tiller, Marsha Tiller, and Paul Fuder; six great-grandchildren, Landon Davis, Janna Tharpe Bigham, Mallory Dykes, Jamie Tiller, Amanda Tiller, Brittany Fuder, and Brandon Fuder , and three great- great- grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at Trinity Baptist Church Friday, October 11, 2013, at 2 p.m. and officiated by Reverend Roland Rabon with burial following in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing Family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral at the church.
