Spivey, 81 of Marianna, Florida passed away Monday, October 26, 2009 due to an extended illness. She retired from the Division of Alcohol and Tobacco. Her family, church and church family were very special to her. Playing dominoes and canasta with her friends, watching college and professional football and baseball were a few of her favorite pastimes. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed having her family together to eat. She also loved spending time with her family at the beach or while camping with them later in her life. The entire Spivey family always meant so much to her and had a special place in her heart. She was a longtime member of Trinity Baptist Church in Marianna. Preceded in death by her husband, Harold Spivey; her father, Roy Wright; her mother, Elvira Pollard; and grandson, Justin Spivey Burch. She is survived by 2 daughters, Terry Brown and husband Jerry; Debbie Burch and husband Dennis; seven grandchildren, Fate Brown and wife Vicki; Bret Brown and wife Alyson; Jennifer Brown and husband Ron; Mary Ellen Odom and husband Bobby; Roseanne Givens and husband Ashley; Kaitlyn Burch and Brandon Burch; nine great-grandchildren Cami, Thad, Jace, Ciara, Jack, Anson, Hunter, Cole and Will. Bonnie Blanton, Myrtice Picola, and Nancy Adkins were three of her special friends as well as her cat Angel. Funeral will be at 11 am, Wednesday, October 28, 2009 at Trinity Baptist Church with Rev. Roland Rabon officiating. Burial will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing. The family will receive friends 6-8 pm Tuesday, October 27, at Trinity Baptist Church, 3023 Pennsylvania Ave. Marianna.
