Smith, 92, of Marianna died Monday, March 30, 2009 at Jackson Hospital. She was a native of Barbour County, Alabama, lived most of her life in Jackson County . She was a resident manager for Chipola Apartments and a member of First Assembly of God Church. Survivors include one daughter, Joyce Ayers and husband, Lowell of Cantonment; one brother, Ralph Medley of Ozark, AL.; sisters, Lena Hoover of Louisville, Ky., Wyonona Trevarthan of High Springs, Dot Clark of Waverly Hall, GA., Sandra Thomas of Eufaula,AL., Judy Mascal of Midway, AL., Manerva McBride of Columbus, GA.; two grandchildren, Jeaneen O'Connor and husband, Pete, of Navarre, Penny McDonald and husband, Joey of Pensacola; four great-grandchildren, Abi and Teddy Harrell of Navarre, Sidney and Chase McDonald of Pensacola; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Thursday, April 2 at James & Sikes Maddox Chapel with Rev. Mike McBride officiating. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing.
