James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel Mildred Daniels, 87, of Cypress, died Friday, January 11, 2013, at her home surrounded by her family. She was a native and life long resident of Jackson County. She worked for Standard Oil Company, Warner Brothers Garment Factory, The Jackson County Floridan as a correspondent and a society editor. She also worked for the USDA as an Enumerator. She later retired at age 75 from the Jackson County School Board as a Paraprofessional and a substitute teacher. She was a member and former board member of Cypress Methodist Church for 50 years. She enjoyed coordinating the Cypress Community Wreaths. She is preceded in death by her husband, Everett Lamar Daniels; parents, Tommy and Alma Byrd; sisters, Lillian Tharp, Myrtice Brown, and Ida Martin; brother, Eugene Byrd. She is survived by her daughter, Judy Alexander and Glenn of Cypress, daughter, Linda Lee and Roger of Titusville, son, Leland and Phyllis of Dellwood, son, Hank and Pam of Cypress; brother, Mike Byrd of Cypress; grandchildren, Stacy Bunin of Centreville, VA, Jennifer Faust of Avon Park, FL, Craig Alexander of Cypress, Dana Alexander of Cypress, Jimmy Daniels of Pensacola, Ty Daniels of Dellwood, and Rett Daniels of Dellwood; great-grandchildren, Kara Bush of Burgaw, NC, Scott Faust of Orlando, Justin Faust of Avon Park, David and Kristen Bunin of Centreville, VA, Dustin and Charlie Alexander of Cypress, Aiden, Ashbi, and Adlei Alexander of Cypress; one great-great grandchild, Cecelia Bush of Burgaw, NC; sister-in-law, Christanna Mercer of Cypress, and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, January 14, 2013 at the Cypress Methodist Church with Rev. Bill Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Cypress Cemetery with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing. The Family will receive friends Sunday, January 13, 2013, from 5-7 p.m. at James & Sikes Maddox Chapel.
