Mike Hinson Stewart

Mike H. Stewart, 80, of the Rocky Creek Community died Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at Jackson Hospital. A native and life long resident of Jackson County, Mr. Stewart was a US Army veteran, a former bus driver for the Jackson County School system, was the former owner of Mike's Car Wash and a retired Corrections Officer with the State of Florida and a member of East Side Assembly of God Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hinson and Laura Ingram Stewart; one brother, Alvin Miles Stewart and a sister, Minnie Lee Chason. Survivors include his wife, Norma Dell Stewart of the Rocky Creek Community. one daughter, Lisa Darby and husband Shannon of Quincy; one grandson, Josh Darby of Quincy; one brother, Miram Stewart and wife Dorothy of Rocky Creek; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 10 am Saturday, March 31, 2012 at East Side Assembly of God Church with Rev. Rudy Prescott and Rev. Lavon Carraway officiating. Interment will follow at Rocky Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing.
