Mike Byrd

James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel Mike Byrd, 79, of Grand Ridge died Wednesday, October 29, 2014 at Jackson Hospital. Mike was a native and lifelong resident of Cypress, where he attended Cypress Community Church. He worked several years at Peacock Motor Company in Marianna. He also worked as a self employed Body Shop owner and before retiring worked in construction. Mike enjoyed fishing, camping and loved his family. He served in the U.S. Army, was a member of the VFW and the Army Reserve. He is survived by his wife, Yvonne Hamilton Byrd; two sons, Michael Byrd and wife, Peggy of Graceville, Thomas Byrd and Tammy Bragg of Cypress; six grandchildren, Jason Byrd, J.D. Byrd, Jared Byrd, Sean Byrd, Nick Byrd, Philip Byrd and six great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 1p.m. Saturday, November 1, 2014 at Cypress Community Church with Rev. Rolan Bamberg officiating. Interment will follow in Cypress Cemetery with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Friday, October 31, 2014 at James & Sikes Maddox Chapel.
