Mr. Merrel Morgan, 78, of Bascom died Friday, January 22, 2016 at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital.
Merrel was a native of Whitesburg, KY and moved to Bascom from Naples, FL in 1982 . He was a heavy equipment Mechanic and helped all the Bascom farmers with their equipment.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Sharon Marie Casey; his parents, Bennett and Bertie Holcomb Morgan.
Mr. Morgan is survived by his wife, Edith Morgan; two sons, Ricky Lynn Morgan and wife, Rebecca, Merrel Raymond Morgan and wife, Tammy; one daughter, Sandy Johnson and husband, James all of Bascom; one brother, Henry Morgan of Corbin, KY; four sisters, Wilma Kilburn of Naples, Janice Theford of N.C., Nina Sue Fields of Pine Mountain, KY and Ella Everidge of Ranger, TX.
A service of remembrance will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, January 29, 2016 at Harmony Masonic Lodge # 3, 3024 Jefferson St. Marianna, FL 32446. James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
