Melvin "Mel" Dean Forbes

Melvin Dean Forbes, 69 of Marianna died Thursday, September 4, 2014 at his residence after a long illness. A native of Lincoln, NE but spent the majority of his life living in Washington state. Mr. Forbes had resided in Jackson County for the past five and one half years. A veteran of the U.S. Army having served a tour of duty during the Vietnam conflict. Mr. Forbes enjoyed spending much of his time watching NASCAR racing, playing dominos and board games with friends. Survivors include his wife Virginia of 38 years; three sons Keith Gregg, Duane Gregg and Lee Gregg; one daughter Candi Gregg Corrado; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; four brothers and four sisters. Memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, September 13, 2014 at the home of Duane and Lori Gregg 1952 B Hwy 71, Marianna, Fl 32448 with Rev. Gino Mayo officiating.
