Maxwell Weeks

March 31, 1938 — September 10, 2011

Maxwell Weeks, 73, of Sneads passed away Saturday, September 10, 2011 at Jackson Hospital surrounded by his family. A native and life long resident of Jackson County, Mr. Weeks was a retired Corp of Engineer's employee at Jim Woodruff Dam. A U.S. Army veteran, Mr. Weeks enjoyed farming, working with cattle and being an outdoorsman. He fought hard until the end and left this life with so many people loving him deeply. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Velma Weeks; his parents, Amos and Curtis Weeks; four sisters, Rosa Lee McCroan, Linny V. Neel, Jennie Liz Weeks and Virginia Weeks; one brother, Thomas Weeks and lifetime friend, Toby Smith. Survivors include his wife, Debbi Weeks of Sneads, three daughters, Dee Dee Weeks of Sneads, Donna Harvey and husband Jesse of Bristol and Wendy Horton and husband David of Chattahoochee; one son, Mack Wayne Weeks; one step daughter, Darla Kirkland; one sister, Nancy Weeks all of Sneads; two brothers, Jerry Weeks of Sneads and Skeeto Weeks of Pelham, GA; eight grandchildren, Mindy Wagner, Courtney Hitson and Brandi Mills all of Sneads, Michael Gibson, Jenna and Charli Harvey all of Bristol, Katie Harvey and Timothy Brunner of Tifton, GA.; Two great Grandchildren, Alexis Hitson and Greyton Armstrong; Special friends , Madie Smith and Robert Cloud. Funeral services will be at 2 pm Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at Emmanuel Holiness Church with Sister Eva Howell and Rev. Jack Howell officiating. Interment will follow at the Weeks Family Cemetery with full military honors provided by the Sneads American Legion Post 241. James & Sikes Funeral Home Sneads Chapel directing. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 pm Tuesday, September 13, 2011 at Sneads Chapel.
