James and Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel Mavis F. Elmore, 99, of Greenwood , Florida died Sunday, September 18, 2011 at her home. Born in Grenada , Mississippi , Mrs. Elmore had resided in Jackson County Florida since 2005. She was a member of the Greenwood United Methodist Church . She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert G. Elmore, her parents, J. L. and Alma Carver and sister, Verna S. Martin. Survivors include one sister, Ray Beard of Memphis, Tennessee, one niece, Suzanne M. NeSmith and husband Jimmy of Greenwood, Florida; three nephews, Sidney L. Martin and wife Connie of Bristol, Florida; Robert R. Martin and wife Mary Frances of Greenwood, Florida and Jimmy Beard of Memphis, Tennessee. Funeral services will be held at 11 am Thursday, September 22, 2011 at Garner-Harper Funeral Home with the Reverend Ricky Shephard officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Grenada , Mississippi. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service. James and Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel is in charge of arrangments.
