Mary Hancock Smith, 78, of Marianna, Florida passed from her earthly body to her heavenly eternal home on February 18, 2021 with her loving family by her side.
Mary was born January 25, 1943. She was born and raised in the Alford community area until she moved to Marianna. She lived in Marianna for many years with her daughter and best friend Cynthia Smith.
She was of the Christian faith and attended Christian Assembly in Malone, FL. When she was not working, you would see her in a fishing hole or on her way to her favorite fishing spot. She also had a green thumb. She loved working in her garden growing her fruit trees and rose bushes or any other flowers you could possible think of. Mary never met a stranger.
She preceded in death by her parents, Gussie Jackson, Carl Jackson, Robert Mozell Hancock; her brother, David Hancock; and brother-in-law, Ray Smith.
She is survived by her best friend and daughter, Cynthia Smith; sisters, Barbara (Earl) Hussey, JoAnn Smith, Ilah Jackson; sister-in-laws, Leonia Hancock, Eunie (Dennis) Creamer; long time friend, Glenda (James) Smith; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Monday, February 22, 2021 at 2 PM at Collins Chapel Baptist Church with Bro. Stanley Henderson officiating. Internment will follow at Collins Chapel Baptist Cemetery with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel Directing. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, Monday, February 22, 2021 at Collins Chapel.
