James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel 4278 Lafayette Street Marianna, Florida 32446 Mrs. Mary W. Smith, age 88, died Monday, June 7, 2010. Born June 3, 1922 in Houston County, Alabama, Mrs. Smith was the daughter of the late Dee Davis Watson and Lethan S. Watson. As a young lady, Mrs. Smith worked as a nurse at the Donalsonville Hospital in Donalsonville, Georgia. She also was employed by Johnnie Williams Chicken Farm in Malone, FL. From there she worked for and retired from the deli department at the IGA store also in Malone. Mrs. Smith was also a member of the Bascom Assembly of God in Malone. Along with her parents, Mrs. Smith is also preceded in death by her husband, Jessie Smith. She is survived by her sister, Louise Jackson of Bartow, five nieces; Samalene Muir (Rick) of Bartow, Eyvonne Landon (Jack) of Lakeland, Glenda Mears (Carl E. "Skip") of Bartow, Wanda Tyson (Mike) of Bartow, Sherry Warren also of Bartow, and nephew Rickey Jackson (Tammy) of Lakeland. She also leaves behind eleven great nieces and nephews and ten great great nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Friday, June 11, 2010 at Bascom Assembly of God. Interment will follow in Collins Chapel Cemetery in Malone with James and Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing.
