Mary Weldon Patrick, 86, of Bascom died Friday, October 30, 2015 at her residence.
Mary was born in Jacksonville on May 19, 1929 to S.A. and Mary Gladys Weldon. She grew up in Bradford County and graduated from Bradford County High School in 1947. Mary graduated from FSU on February 3, 1951 with a Home Economics Degree and began teaching at Plant City and then in Tampa. Mary and her husband, Charles Patrick were married on June 12, 1954. She was a teacher at Grand Ridge High School from 1954 - 1970, then at Malone High School from 1970 - 1989. Mary was a member of the Bascom United Methodist Church for over 53 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Steven Weldon of Macclenny and Jim Weldon of Orange Park.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Charles Patrick; one son, Greg and wife, Joy all of Bascom; one daughter, Cindy Randolph and husband, Bernie of Tallahassee; three granddaughters, Kristin Patrick Sherer and husband, John, Karen Patrick Cook and husband, Jason, Lacey Randolph; five great-grandchildren, Shelby, "J ", Mary Kate, John Rhett and Patrick; one brother, Billy Weldon and wife Pennie; one sister, Martha Alogna; sisters-in-law; Joyce and Barbara Weldon and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday November 3, 2015 at Bascom United Methodist Church with Rev. Wendall Beall officiating. Interment will follow in the Dellwood Methodist Cemetery with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing.
The family will receive friends beginning at 10 a.m., one hour prior to the service at the church.
