Mary Elizabeth Napier Davis

Mary Elizabeth Napier Peacock Davis, 91, of Marianna died Monday, September 27, 2010 at Jackson Hospital. A native of Rehobeth, Al., Mrs. Davis was a long time resident of Jackson County where she served in the Jackson County School System at Golson School as an elementary teacher for more than 30 years. She was a past recipient of the Florida Teacher of the Year award. a member and past director of the Florida Teachers Assoc. and a member of the Pink Ladies for many years. A graduate of FSU she was an avid Seminole Booster and a member of the First United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Chilton Stovall and Lillie Mae Baxley Napier. Survivors include one son, Bobby Junior Peacock of Panama City; one daughter, Roberta Jacobson and husband, Mark, of Atlanta, GA.; one brother, Roy Thomas Napier of Tallahassee and one sister, Margarette Willis Schremp of Mexico Beach, Fl.; four grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, October 1, 2010 at James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing. Family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.
