James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel Mary Joan Dalafave, 83, of Marianna, died Saturday, March 23, 2013 at Flowers Hospital in Dothan, Alabama. Born in Williamsburg County, SC., Mrs. Dalafave had resided in Jackson County since 1963. She was a retired educator with the Jackson County School System, a member of West Gate Church of Christ in Dothan and served as a Pink Lady at Jackson Hospital for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Caswell Graham and Mary Donnald Roper; three brothers, Caswell Graham, William C. Roper, and Col. Maxie Donnald Roper, U.S. Army, (RET) Survivors include her husband, James Dalafave of Graceville; four sons, Mike Dalafave of Malone, Kevin Dalafave and wife, Carolyn of Columbus, Ga., Joel Dalafave and wife, Danielle of Newtown, PA, Capt. Allen Dalafave, U.S. Army and wife, Kim of El Paso, TX; one daughter, Maura Register and husband, David of Graceville; 21 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel with Mr. Philip Dampier officiating. Interment will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, March 25, 2013 at James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel.
