Mary Lou Arnold

Mary Lou Arnold went home to be with the Lord peacefully at her home on Saturday, January 2, 2021.  She was born on January 17, 1945 to the late Huston and Nadine Neel.   She was a life-long resident of Jackson County and attended Sneads Assembly of God. She was married to the love of her life, Jake Arnold, for 53 years and together they raised four children.  She retired from State of Florida after 30 plus years, with the majority being with Dept. of Corrections.  Additionally, she loved being “Commander in Chief” on their family farm on River Road.

She is survived by her loving and doting husband, Jake Arnold; four children, Ricky Arnold (Kim), Timmy Arnold (Leann), Tonya McDaniel (Kevin) and Drayton Arnold (Lynn); eight grandchildren, Jake Durden (Alicia), Brittany Arnold, Erica Creel (Austin), Shelby Arnold, Will McDaniel, Kristen McDaniel, Macy Emmons and Taylor Arnold;  three great grandchildren, Cole Creel, Andi Grace Durden and Reid Durden;  sisters, Sharon Dawson (Doyle), Jeffie Ditty (Joe) ; brothers, Daniel David Neel and Bernard Neel and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Huston and Nadine Neel;   brother, Junior Earl Neel; sisters, Ursula Neel, Geneva Whitehead and Brenda Herndon, a special sister in law, Patsy Neel; nephews, David Earl Neel and Kevin Wright and her precious grandson, Tyler Arnold.

A graveside service will be 2pm, Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at Dykes Cemetery in Sneads, Florida with Pastor Juno Douglas and Johnny Ray Fontenot officiating and James and Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing.
