Martha A. Long, 84, died Saturday, September 7, 2024 at Marianna Health and Rehab.

She was born February 7, 1940 in Jasper, TN to William and Virginia Anderson. She was a devoted Christian, serving the Lord all of her life. For two years, she and her husband Leon, along with their two children, called Bolivia home while they served as missionaries there from 1976-1977. Martha had a degree in business and worked for Honeywell for ten years. After retiring, she filled her days working in the garden and flower beds. She loved to play the piano, especially hymns. She and Leon were married for 60 years, and caring for him and their children brought her great joy. Martha loved her children and grandchildren dearly.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd L. Long; parents, William A. and Virginia Pearl Jones Anderson; brother, George Anderson; sister, Billie Sue Middleton.

She is survived by her son, Floyd Daniel Long, and wife, Judy; daughter, Sarah Givanna Abner; grandchildren, Cory L. Abner and Sydnie N. Lewis and husband, Brett.

She will be laid to rest next to her husband in East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery. James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel in charge of arrangements.
