Marshall Thomas Pledger, 76, of Marianna died Saturday, January 28, 2023, in Marianna. He was born in Marianna September 17, 1946, to the late Emmett Theopolis Pledger, Jr. and Neta Shelton Pledger.
Tommy (as he was known by family) was a lifelong truck driver. From his western shirts, down to the cowboy boots, he was the epitome of the American Trucker. For as long as anyone could remember, the road was his one true love. Long after retiring he would spin tales of the open highway and long for days past. Tommy was a student of history, and enjoyed working with wood
He was preceded in death by his father, Emmett Theopolis Jr., mother, Neta Belle Shelton, sister, Nancy Jo., and brother, Charles Emmett.
His survivors include his son, Richard Thomas Pledger, and daughter, Melinda Gail Pledger; sisters, Majorie Elizabeth, Carolyn Sue, and Katherine Ann.
No services are planned, memorialization will be by cremation. James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
