Mark Allen Henry peacefully left this world on November 11, 2018 after filling it with laughter, hard work, and, most importantly, love, for 66 years. Mark served many hard years' time behind bars during his outstanding career in corrections (loving every second of it), passing through many locations before settling in Marianna, FL. During his nineteen years in Jackson County, he made a great impact on the community, where he was well respected and admired by all those fortunate enough to know him. However, it was obvious to all who met Mark that, far above career, the most important thing to him was his family. He lived every second of his life for them, and they take comfort and strength in the knowledge that they were present during his final moments, that he is now freed from recent earthly and physical limitations, and that they have each other in whom to always remember Mark's love and the lessons of his life. Mark and his wife, Sylvia Spence Henry, were married for over 36 years, providing endless inspiration for believers in true love, and leaving a rich legacy including daughter, Meredith, and son, Matthew, who challenge anyone to find a better dad. Mark is also survived by his sisters and brother along with their families: Jackie Gerachis and daughter, Melissa; Mike Henry (Ann Howard), daughter, Kim Henry (Joe Parshall), and granddaughter, Grace Parshall; and Mary Henry Harrington (Mike Harrington), daughter, Elizabeth Harrington, and son, Michael Harrington. A multitude of friends and adopted family also entered Mark's life at various points, many of whom offered enormous aid to Mark and his family during these last few years and whose kindness and concern will never be forgotten. Per Mark's request, no official services will be held. If you knew Mark and wish to honor his memory, follow through on your word, always let your every action show your family you love them, and try not to be too much of an idiot.
