Marie Hill Smith

Marie Hill Smith, 89, of Cottondale died Saturday, February 7, 2015 in Cottondale. She lived most of her life in Jackson County where she was a homemaker. Marie was a member of Faith Haven Assembly of God Church for more than 30 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, James R. Smith; a daughter, Bertie Marie Synder; brother, Vernon Hill. Survivors include one son, Daniel (Sue) McKelvain of Grand Ridge; a daughter, Elizabeth Diane Kent of Chipley; a brother, Ray (Linda) Hill of Tallahassee; three sisters, Ada Lawson, Annie Pitman & Magalene Neel; son-in-law, Robert H. Synder; sister-in-law, Mozell Hill; five grandchildren & five great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 12, 2015 at Faith Haven Assembly of God Church in Grand Ridge with Pastor Jeffery Dubose & Alfred Long officiating. Burial will follow at Cypress Cemetery with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing. Visitation will be Wednesday, from 5-7 p.m., at James & Sikes Maddox Chapel.
