Marie E. (Barnes) Holley, 101 passed from this life into the arms of her Savior, Tuesday, November 14, 2018 at Jackson Hospital.
A lifelong native of Jackson County, Mrs. Holley was retired from the State of Florida School Board Food Service Department at Cottondale High School. She was a member of Cottondale First Assembly of God Church for Seventy years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow W. Holley and her parents, Thomas Jefferson and Elizabeth (Seay) Barnes; six brothers, Oscar Barnes and wife, Arvie, Troy (Buck) Barnes and wife, Janie, Coy Barnes and wife, Virginia, John Thomas ( JT) Barnes and wife, Cora, Claudie Barnes and wife, Lucianne, Henry Richard (HR) Barnes and wife, Bobbie; two sisters, Corene (Barnes) Sexton and husband, Huey, Christine (Barnes) Brannon and husband, Luke; two sons-in-law, Leroy Vickery and Bob Chaffee; and two grandsons, Lyndall Merchant and Richard Merchant.
Survivors include: one son, Phillip (Barnes) Holley and wife, Elaine of Cottondale, Florida, two daughters, Cherryle (Holley) Chaffee of Cottondale Florida and Jean (Holley) Vickery of Marianna, Florida; grandchildren, Victor Vickery and wife, Theresa of Marianna Florida, Cassandra Holland and husband, Tommy of Marianna Florida, Jason Holley and Betty Coleman of Cottondale Florida; great-grandchildren, Natasha Nunley and Brandon Smith of Tallahassee Florida, Erin Edwards and Chase of Mobile, Alabama, Dustin Merchant and Melonie of Wheeling, West Virginia, Samantha Nunley of Marina del Rey, California, Kate Vickery of Niceville, Florida, Holley Holland and M.J. Massee of Atlanta, Georgia, Cole Collins and Angela of Hickman, Kentucky, Erika Sharp and Andrew of Virginia; and ten great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, November 18, 2018 at Cottondale First Assembly of God Church, 2636 Milton Street, Cottondale, Florida, with Revs. Chris Franklin, Thomas L. Moore & James Lamb officiating. Interment will follow in Piney Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Cottondale, Florida with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing.
The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, November 17, 2018 at Cottondale First Assembly of God Church.
