Margie Louisa Miller, 94, passed away Sunday, November 8, 2020 at Chipola Rehab in Marianna, Florida.
Mrs. Miller was born in Kynesville, FL on October 20, 1926 to Will and Nora Kennedy Porter. She was one of six children, Kenneth, Raymond, Herman, Bernice and Elinor.
She hopped on the rear of Earl Preston Miller’s motorcycle and married him in 1944.
Margie taught the juniors class in Sunday School at First Assembly of God, about 10 to 12 years. Some of her fondest memories were stories of her days teaching Sunday School and how she personally led children to give their hearts to Christ Jesus! She was Secretary-Treasurer for approximately 45 years at Eastside Assembly of God, serving eight pastors like; Bro. William J. Floyd, Bro. Claude McGill, Bro. O.L. Thomas, Bro. Ed Bell, Bro. Tillie Earnest, Bro. Dewey Myers, Sis. Bernell Hall, and Bro. Jack Howell. What a journey she had serving God and being so faithful all those years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl; her parents; siblings; and one stepson, Bruce Miller.
Margie is survived by her son, Frank Leon Miller (Millie); stepsons, James Earl Miller (Bernice), and Ronnie Preston Miller (Shirley). She was Granny Miller to twelve and Great-Granny to numerous others.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Thursday, November 12, 2020 at James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel with Pastor Greg Miller officiating. Interment will follow in Bethlehem Baptist Cemetery in Kynesville with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel officiating.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, Thursday, November 12, 2020 at 1:00 PM at James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel.
