Margie Fuqua

James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel 4278 Lafayette Street Marianna, Fl Margie Dillard Fuqua, 77, of Marianna passed away December 28, 2010 at home. She was born on May 15, 1933 in Altha, Florida to Matthew and Dovie Messer Dillard and graduated from Altha School. Margie graduated from Florida State College for Women with a degree in Home Economics. She married Harry Fuqua and taught school for several years. After moving to Gainesville, Florida they began raising their family and she worked as a social worker. After moving back to Marianna and later to Calhoun County she continued working as a substitue teacher and in the family convenience store business. Margie delighted in her three grandchildren and they were the highlights of her later years. She also was very active on her computer and filled much of her time researching items of interest and emailing friends and family. She was preceded in death by her five brothers and sisters, She is survived by her two sons, Matthew Fuqua and wife Pam, and Jonathan Fuqua and wife Julie; three grandchildren, Harrison, Emily and Ellory Fuqua, and numerous nieces, nephews. Graveside funeral services will be at 3 p.m. CST, Thursday, December 30, at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens in Marianna with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing. No visitation is planned.
