Margaret Ivey Matthews

Margaret Ivey Matthews, 97, of Marianna passed away Friday, July 5, 2013 at Signature Health Care at the Courtyard. Born August 30, 1915 in Scotts Ferry, FL, Mrs. Matthews had resided in Jackson County for many years. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Marianna and retired with 25 years of service with the Jackson County School System. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. A. R. Matthews, her parents Henry Monroe and Allie Neal Henderson Ivey, a brother, Henry Ivey, two sisters, Katherine Reeder and Florene Alford. Survivors include her two son, Chris Matthews and wife Debbie of Marianna, Neal Matthews and wife, Jeanne of Birmingham, AL; five grand children, Tom Matthews of Birmingham, Michael Shane Halstead of Panama City Beach, Kristen Fountain of Birmingham, Deena Zimmerman of Marianna and Tara Haggard of Pensacola; six great grandchildren; one brother Glen Ivey of Ebro, FL; sister-in-law Mattie Matthews of Bonifay and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 11 am, Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at Maddox Chapel with Rev. LaVon Pettis and Rev. Ronnie Wright officiating with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10 am Tuesday, July 9, 2013 till funeral time at Maddox Chapel.
