Lorene Broom Barrentine

Lorene Barrentine, 79, of Cottondale died Monday, March 31, 2008 at Jackson Hospital after a lengthy illness. Born in Wewa, Mrs. Barrentine had resided in Jackson County most of her life and was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Chipley. She loved fishing, singing and working with crafts. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry L. and Allie Mae Yon Broom. Survivors by her husband of 63 years, Huey Barrentine of Cottondale; a daughter, Catherine Stone and husband Frank of Altha; two grandsons, Arthur Stone, Jr and Rusty Stone both of Altha; one sister, Ernestine Christmas of Cottondale; a brother and sister-in-law, John A. and Edna Barrentine of Camilla, Georgia; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be at 10am, Wednesday, April 2, 2008 at the First Assembly of God Church in Chipley with Rev. Dallas Pettis officiating, burial will follow at Pilgrims Rest Cemetery with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Tuesday, April 1, 2008 at Maddox Chapel. "
