Lola Pearl Watford, 77, of Gordon, AL passed away Tuesday, September 7, 2010 at her residence. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry R. Watford; her parents, Riley and Willie Mae Kirkland, brothers Marvin, Wilton, and J.C. Kirkland, and sister Vera Mae Durance. Lola is survived by two sons; Jimmy Watford and wife Nell, and Henry Dewayne Watford and wife Tina, all of Gordon, AL; one daughter, Louria Gourman and husband Donald of Bascom, FL; three grandchildren Stephanie Watford, Casey Land, and Tusdie Taylor; four great grandchildren, Mackenzie Danford, Bailey Speight, Shane Websterm and Abbigail Land. She is also survived by some great caregivers Shirley Watford and Paula Harrison and all of the staff at Southern Care Hospice for all they did to take care of her these last months. Lola Pearl lived most of her life on the Florida and Alabama state line as a homemaker and working on the farm with her husband. She was a member of the Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Bascom for many years. Funeral services will be at 10 am Friday, September 10, 2010 at Maddox Chapel with Rev. Jackie Register officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Olive Cemetery with James and Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, September 9, 2010 at Maddox Chapel.
