Lois Ann Peters

Lois Ann Peters, 82, of Greenwood died Wednesday, August 6, 2008 at Jackson Hospital. Lois was the last of twentey-one siblings born to John A. and Catherine L. Kneessi. She has lived in Greenwood for the past twenty years having moved here from Hillcrest Heights, MD. She was of the Catholic faith but had attended the Greenwood Baptist Church after first moving to Greenwood. She was predeceased by her husband, Alton W. Peters, Sr. and grandchildren Karen Frank and Donald M. Frank, Jr. Survivors include five sons; Alton W. Peters, Jr. & wife Karen of Dunkirk, MD, Michael O. Peters & wife Joyce of Waldorf, MD, David S. Peters of Lake Havasu City, AZ, Thomas A. Peters & wife Cheryl of Colfax, NC, Joseph D. Peters & wife Aylene of Orlando.; four daughters: Patricia A. Frank & husband Donald of Greenwood, Jeanne M. Miner of Neptune Beach, Rebecca L. Messer & husband Tamphus of Bonifay and Mary A. Dreyer and husband Greg of Midlothian, VA.; six grandsons and six granddaughters and seven great grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at James & sikes Maddox Chapel with Rev. Ronnie Wright officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Baptist Cemetery with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral at Maddox Chapel.
