Lizzie Wilkes

James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel Lizzie Wilkes, 93, of Cottondale, died Saturday, August 11, 2012 in Chipley. Mrs. Wilkes was born in Chipley to the late Charlie and Phebie Sapp. She was a native and lifelong resident of Jackson County. She retired from Sunland Center as a Dietary Technician. She was a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church. Her life was serving the Lord through the outreach of her church. She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Broward Napoleon Wilkes; two brothers, William and Fred Sapp; three sisters, Nellie Dick, Lucille Wilkes and Christine Threet; and one grandson Tony Wilkes. She is survived by one daughter, Linda Wood of Chipley; three sons, Broward Donald Wilkes and Leonard Wilkes both of Tallahassee, Michael Wilkes of Cottondale; one sister, Myrtle Wilkes of Thomasville, GA.; 12 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren. Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday August 15, 2012 at Piney Grove Baptist Cemetery with Revs. Dave Taylor & Rich Ellenton officiating. James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel will direct. Family will receive friends Wednesday, August 15, from 11:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. in The Piney Grove Baptist Church.
