Lillie Ida "Lil" Joyner, 87, of Chattahoochee, died Monday, January 11, 2016 at Signature Healthcare at the Courtyard. Lillie was born in Grand Ridge and was a lifelong resident of Chattahoochee.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Chattahoochee. Lil was a loving wife and mama. She never faced an obstacle that she could not overcome. Lil retired from the Florida State Hospital where she was an Occupational Therapist. She loved fishing, turkey hunting, sewing, crocheting and painting. She most of all loved her family.
Lil was the widow of the late Rufus E. "Goot" Joyner who was the love of her life.
She is survived by her son, Clarke Joyner and wife, Brenda of Scotts Ferry; daughter, Renee Hatcher and husband, Mike of Dellwood; four grandchildren, Jennifer, Kelley, Jessica and Wyatt; four great-grand children, Dax, Bella, Charlie and Michael Bruce.
Funeral services will be 2pm Thursday, January 14, 2016 at James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel with Rev. Bill Mayo officiating. Interment will follow at Dykes Cemetery with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing. In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions be made to the American Heart Association or the Alzheimers Foundation of America.
Family will recieve friends one hour prior to services at James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel.
