Liddie H. Hand

James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel Liddie H. Hand, 83, of Marianna died Tuesday, May 28, 2013 At Signature Health Care at the Courtyard. Mrs. Hand was born in Cypress on June 9, 1929 to Thomas and Malone Hill, was a native and lifelong resident of Jackson County. Liddie received her Bachelor degree from University of West Florida and touched the lives of many children encouraging them to enjoy learning. Liddie retired from the Jackson County School System as an educator after 28 years. Mrs Liddie was a charter member of East Side Baptist until 1970 when she became a member of The First Baptist Church in Marianna. She is preceded in death by her husband, Herman "Jr" Hand; a son Frank Hand. Liddie is survived by her son, Joel Hand of Panama City; two grandsons, Zachary and Dustin Hand of Panama City. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Friday, May 31, 2013, at First Baptist Church in Marianna with Rev. Ronnie Wright officiating. Interment will follow in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the church.
