Lester Pledger

Lester Estes Pledger, 90, of Marianna died Wednesday, August 9, 2006 in Marianna. Mr. Pledger was born to Alonzo E. Pledger & Mary Ann Medlock Pledger on January 25, 1916. He was a native and lifelong resident of Marianna and business owner of Marianna Shoe Shop for more than 30 years. Mr. Pledger also was a member of the Apostolic Church in Marianna. Mr. Pledger was preceded in death by his wife, Veda Allen Pledger; 1 sister, Lena Mae Pledger. Survivors include 1 son, James Lester Pledger and wife Ann of Valrico, FL.; 1 daughter, Billie Teague of Tallahassee, FL.; 6 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, August 12, 2006 at Maddox Chapel with Rev. Jack Howell officiating. Entombment will follow in Chapel of the Pines Masoleum at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing. The family will receive friends from 5-7 Friday at Maddox Chapel.
