Mrs. Messer was a life long resident of Jackson County. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jule and Minnie Sims Smith; two brothers, Jessie and Donnie Smith and a sister, Ruby Wilson. Survivors include her daughter, Kay Elmore, three grandchildren, Scott Smith and wife, Shelly, Douglas Elmore and Randall Elmore all of Malone; three great grandchildren, Cody Smith, Cassidy Smith and Christopher Elmore. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 pm Monday, November 12, 2007 at Collins Chapel Baptist Church with Rev. James Bradley officiating, burial will follow at Collins Chapel Cemetery with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 pm Sunday, November 11, 2007 at Maddox Chapel.
