Lerline Elizabeth Alday, 80, of Cottondale, FL passed away Monday, March 30, 2020 at Signature Health Care.
Born in Donaldsonville, GA, she lived most of her life in Marianna. She was of the Pentecostal faith and greatly enjoyed attending church. After 23 years of service she retired from the Jackson County School Food Service Program. She was a great “Lunchroom Lady”. Being a nurturer by nature she enjoyed having her family and friends around her. She is going to be greatly missed.
Preceded in death by husband, Marvin Eugene Alday; parents, Marvin and Nettie Meredith; brothers, James Meredith, Johnny Meredith, Joe Meredith, Pete Meredith, Ronald Meredith, and Sidney Sims.
Survivors include four daughters, Linda Sue Penny and husband, Wayne, of Cottondale, FL; Brenda Lee Joiner and husband, Hank, of Marianna, FL; Betty Jean Holmes of Cullman, AL; Rebecca Kay Domen of Cypress, FL; ten grandchildren, Roseanna Parker, Tyler Cozart, Torey Griffin, Preston Griffin, Ashley Griffin, Brandi Griffin, Chad Griffin, Breanna Griffin, Ariana Domen and Adin Domen; six great grandchildren, Tully, Luke, Payton, Amelia, Brinley and Timothy Preston Jr.; one sister, Dolly Davis and husband, Bill, of Marianna, FL., two sister-in-laws, Barbara Meredith and Mary Ann Meredith of Marianna, FL as well as numerous nephews, nieces and friends.
A private graveside funeral service will be conducted at Riverside Cemetery in Marianna with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox chapel directing
