September 30, 1932 — March 18, 2014

Leonard Eugene Walters, 81, of Dothan, Alabama passed away March 18, 2014 at Westside Terrace after an extended illness.
After graduation from Sycamore, Georgia High School, Leonard joined the US Navy and served during the Korean War. honorabley discharged after three years, he joined the US Air Force from which he retired in 1972, having served in the Vietnam War. He was a member of Inaha Baptist Church, Sycamore, Georgia and enjoyed fishing, hunting and traveling with his wife Betty in their motor home.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard L. and Delia Swain Walters, two sisters, Venetia Donnan and Evelyn Clark.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Betty Daniel Walters, four children, Leonard E. Walters, Jr. (Colleen), Tina Wright (Bill), Michael Walters (Cathy), David Walters (Trish), grandchildren Shaun Walters, Brian Freeman, Margo Schoenmann, Patty Banks, Jason Freeman, Nikki Damron, Carter Wright, Scott Walters, Casey Walters, Benjamin Walters, Charlie Walters; eight great grandchildren; two brothers-in-law, Hugh Donnan, Charlie Clark.
A private memorial service will be held to celebrate the life of husband, father and grandfather who was loved by all and who is remembered for his great sense of humor. His wishes were to be cremated and interred in the Walters family plot in Tifton, Georgia.
