Lemuel Howard Prutzman

September 27, 1924 — September 12, 2008

Lemuel Howard Prutzman, also know as "Lenny", 83, of Compass Lake died Friday, September 12, 2008 at his home. A native of Eatontown, New Jersey, Mr. Prutzman had resided in Jackson County for many years. He was a retired trucking company owner/operator and a U. S. Army veteran having served in four of the five battles in WWII, on D-Day he joined the 3rd Army Division where he served with General George Patton as an acting Motor Sergeant of a tank destroyer where he was awarded the Bronze Star, upon completion of his overseas duty he returned to West Point as a Drill Sergeant. Lenny was a hard worker and a wonderful father, he loved his wife and was a very private person who loved working on heavy equipment, trucking and fixing things. He was a pilot and had his license for many years and at one time worked for a funeral home and Avon. He was a good listener and always kept the lines of communications open. He will be missed by his wife who loved him with all her heart. Survivors include his wife, Ellen Prutzman of 17 years of Compass Lake; seven step children, Kathe Hussey of New York, Teresa Auletta and husband Al of New Jersey, Ellen Finnegan of Compass Lake, Thomas Hussey of New York, Mary Hussey and Dolores Hussey of the Bronx, New York, Colleen Bush and husband Al of Virginia; nine grandchildren, Brigette, Jennifer, Justin, Brittany, Melissa, Jonathan, Dale, Tommy and Albert Bush III; His adult children, Michael, Carol Ann and Jodie; his close cousins Jimmy Frye, Boby Frye,Margaret Leach and Kimmy Faye all of Lambertvill, New Jersey. Special friend and caregiver, Mary Frances Isler. Memorial services will be 6 pm Tuesday, September 16, 2008 at Maddox Chapel with Rev. Bob Johnson officiating with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing. The Prutzman family would like to thank Covenant Hospice of Marianna for their loving care given to Lenny.
