Lee Roy (Coot) Torbett, 82, Marianna, Florida, died Tuesday, March 12, 2024, at Chipola Health & Rehab.
Lee Roy was born November 24, 1941, in Athens, TN, to Eugene and Naomia Torbett. He was drafted into the Army on August 12, 1964, where he served for two years. On September 14, 1970, he married Mary Lou Brick, and together they had four children. He made his life as a dairy farmer in Marianna, FL until he retired in 1996. In 2007, he and Mary Lou move to Blakely, Ga, where he built “The Store” from the ground up in. From milking cows to running a store, he never stopped working on something. He loved to fish, and spend time outside, especially with his grandchildren and great-granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Naomia Torbett; wife, Mary Lou Torbett; sons, Homer Torbett and Darren Torbett; three brothers, William, Hugh (Skunk), and Ralph (Bub) Torbett.
Lee Roy is survived by his children, Gina Arnett (Timmy); Jeremy (Fred) Torbett (Jenny); grandchildren, Julee Arnett (Wes), Dylan Arnett (Kylie), Malaina Torbett; great-granddaughter, Harper Arnett; sisters, Jane Williams, Launa Howard; brother, Jack Torbett; sister-in-law, Darlene Smith; and numerous nieces, nephews and loved ones.
Graveside services will be 11 AM, Friday, March 15, 2024, at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens with Oscar Williams and Rex Torbett officiating and James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing.
