October 29, 1936 — April 6, 2009

Lavon Arnold Myers, 72 of Bayou George, Florida died Monday April 6 at the Campbellton-Graceville Hospital following a brief illness. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Thursday, April 9, 2009 at Chapel of James & Lipford Funeral Home with Sister Samantha Brogdon and Sister Frances Dudley officiating. Burial will follow in Hurricane Creek Cemetery with James & Lipford Funeral Home in Graceville directing. Family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday, 12:30 p.m. until time of service. Mr. Myers was a carpenter by trade. He was self employed for many years in Panama City before retiring and moving to Bayou George. Mr. Myers was a member of Bear Creek Assembly of God Church. He was preceded in death by his wife Emily Woodham Myers in January 2009. Survivors include two daughters Joyce Knight and husband Larry of Slocomb, AL, Deborah Keys and husband Earl of Peach Bottom, Penn.; two brothers Dwayne and wife Judy, Steve and half brother Gene and wife Peggy of N. Wilkesboro, NC; sister Betty Mumford of Panama City, two half sisters Janice Hall, Darlene Myers of Phenix City, AL; four grandchildren Jamie and Stephanie Metzger of Slocomb, AL, Tracy Hassel and Jamie Keys of Peach Bottom, Penn., six great grandchildren, several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and a very special friend Ray McCall of Bayou George. Pallbearers are Billy Thomas, Gene Mumford, Joseph Thomas, Collin Wydner, Steve Myers and Billy King. Joyce and Deb would like to extend a special "thank you" to Campbellton-Graceville Hospital, Covenant Hospice, family and friends for your care and support, God Bless you all, we love you.
